India added a record 27 GW of solar PV in the first half of 2026, up 49% from a year earlier, according to PV Tech.
Developers pushed to commission projects ahead of the June ALMM List-II deadline, which pulled many installations forward. Full-year 2026 additions are now expected to exceed any previous year.
