MNRE’s ALMM List-II for solar cells takes effect on 1 June 2026. Most government-backed, net-metered and open-access projects must then use modules built with cells from listed Indian manufacturers.
Projects whose bid submission date was before the order are exempt, even if commissioned after 1 June.
For buyers, the practical step is to confirm that your installer’s modules are ALMM-compliant and that the commissioning timeline fits the rules. Ask for the cell source in writing.
